Ripping and rigging Sega models isn't against the rules, unless you're talking about the rules made up by Sega who overstepped the rules made for MMD by the designer of MMD.

Sega originally made their models for their own games and such, and then people rigged the models to work in MMD. Sega doesn't like it, but when used for MMD different rules go into effect - namely no commercial use.

I found this model being spread around freely so I want to know, did you do this edit?

In fact, official (no one ever does) when you sell a game you owned legaly on such place as Ebay or any other place for second handed stuff. You have to pay a part of the money to the copyright holders, in this case Sega. Like I sayd no one ever does, but officialy you do have to by law...

This is why you won't get all the money you sold it for when selling on steam. Steam earns some and the copyright holders earn some. Valve can't ignore laws without problems...

It's just that you sayd that ripping models isn't against rules. I'm trying to say that it is. The second comment was more to show how strict the copyright rules are wich you break by ripping them. Other comment is more the point. The fact where you put it to doesn't chance the rules, its still the same model, even if would be edited...
